Deng Gai: is a Sudanese professional basketball player, formerly in the NBA.Gai went undrafted, but was signed as a free agent by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2005.[3] After playing in only two games for the team, he was waived in December 2005. He then briefly played for the USBL's Dodge City Legend and the ABA's Wilmington Sea Dawgs. Deng Gai was drafted in 2005 by the CBA's Albany Patroons (2nd round, 10th overall) where he currently leads the team in blocked shots. Following the 2007 season, the USBL named Gai to the USBL All-Defensive Team.[4]

At the age of 13, he played for England's squad in the European Junior Men's Qualifying Tournament, averaging 40 points and 14 rebounds. He was named the MVP of the tournament. Next, he led England to the finals of the European Junior National Tournament, where he averaged 34 points and earned another MVP award. He counts himself a fan of Arsenal F.C.[5]

Si-An Deng: is a retired female badminton player from Canada, who won the silver medal in the inaugural women's singles competition at the 1995 Pan American Games. She also claimed gold at that same tournament in the women's doubles.
