Zsigmond Barász: was a Hungarian chess master.He took 2nd, behind Zoltán von Balla, at Györ 1906 (the 1st Hungarian Championship) and lost a match to him (0.5 : 2.5) there; took 9th at Budapest 1906 (Leó Forgács won), tied for 1st-2nd with Forgács at Budapest 1907 (the 2nd HUN-ch), and took 4th at Székesféhervár 1907 (Forgács won).

Zsigmond Szathmáry: is a Hungarian organist, pianist, composer, and conductor. Szathmáry studied composition with Ferenc Szabó and organ with Ferenc Gergely at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest from 1958 to 1963. He pursued post-graduate instrumental education at first in Vienna with Alois Forer and—after he moved to Germany—from 1964 at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule with Helmut Walcha. Parallel to this he participated from 1964 to 1967 in the Cologne Courses for New Music, studying composition with Henri Pousseur and Karlheinz Stockhausen, and attended the Darmstädter Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in 1964 and 1965, studying with György Ligeti (Wienke 2001).

Zsigmond Járai: is a Hungarian politician, who served as Minister of Finance between 1998 and 2000. He was the President of the Budapest Stock Exchange between 1996 and 1998. After his ministership he was appointed President of the Hungarian National Bank. Járai was succeeded by András Simor in 2007.

Zsigmond Kunfi: was a Hungarian politician who served as Minister without portfolio of Croatian Affairs and as Minister of Labour and Welfare between 1918 and 1919. His views was near to Karl Kautsky's. Kunfi was member of the Hungarian National Council from 1918. As minister of Croatian Affairs he was entrusted with the ministry's liquidating. In Dénes Berinkey's government he was appointed Minister of Education. He hold this position also during the Hungarian Soviet Republic as People's Commissar. Kungfi resigned from his position and required the dictatorship's liquidation. After that he emigrated to Austria. He worked as editor-in-chief of the Arbeiter Zeitung. Kunfi committed suicide in Vienna.

Richard Adolf Zsigmondy: was an Austrian-German chemist of and Nobel laureate chemistry known for his research in colloids. The crater Zsigmondy on the Moon is named in his honour. He was an ethnic Hungarian.[1]Zsigmondy left organic chemistry and joined the physics group of August Kundt at the University of Berlin and finished his habilitation at the University of Graz in 1893. Because of his knowledge about glass and its colouring in 1897 the Schott Glass factory offered him a job which he accepted. He invented the Jenaer Milchglas and conducted some research on the red Ruby glass.
