Paul G Walther: is a retired American basketball player.A 6'2" guard/forward from the University of Tennessee, Walther played six seasons (1949-1955) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Minneapolis Lakers, Indianapolis Olympians, Philadelphia Warriors, and Fort Wayne Pistons. He averaged 7.7 points per game in his career and appeared in the 1952 NBA All-Star Game.

Johann Gottfried Walther: was a German music theorist, organist, composer, and lexicographer of the Baroque era. Walther was most well-known as the compiler of the Musicalisches Lexicon (Leipzig, 1732), an enormous dictionary of music and musicians. Not only was it the first dictionary of musical terms written in the German language, it was the first to contain both terms and biographical information about composers and performers up to the early 18th century. In all, the Musicalisches Lexicon defines more than 3,000 musical terms; Walther evidently drew on more than 250 separate sources in compiling it, including theoretical treatises of the early Baroque and Renaissance. The single most important source for the work was the writings of Johann Mattheson, who is referenced more than 200 times.

Bernhard Walther: was a German merchant, humanist and astronomer based in Nuremberg, Germany. The merchant was a man of large means, which he devoted to scientific pursuits. When Regiomontanus settled in Nuremberg in 1471, they worked in collaboration to build an observatory and a printing press. After the death of Regiomontanus in 1476 at Rome, Walther bought his instruments and continued the observation of planets till his death. His house, purchased in 1509 by Albrecht Dürer, is nowadays a museum.
