She had successfully climbed Mont Blanc, Cho Oyu, and others. She had attempted Everest three times before, but did not succeed until April 22, 1993 when she reached the summit by the South Col via the Southeast Ridge route. While she was descending with her husband, Sonam Chhiring, she fell into a crevasse and died. Even though she had fallen, the deeds she had done are still remembered by Nepalese men and women today.
