Having started the 1932 season poorly, he finished with a solid top-score of 35 not out, bested just once in his career by his sole half-century. Following the end of his Derbyshire career, Beet played five times for Marylebone Cricket Club, between 1933 and 1938. He was a lower-order batsman. Beet later umpired one first-class match, during the 1947 season. He died at Somercotes at the age of 45.
