One of the key players from the Eel’s rugby team, Semi Radradra Turagasoli Waqavatu was forced to give up his passport due to domestic violence charges. This all comes just a couple of days after a warrant for his arrest was threatened to be issued.
Now that the all-star has landed in Sydney, from a trip to Fiji, he will not be allowed out of Australia until things are cleared up. Radradra briefly appeared in the Parramatta Local Court to face the charges.
The Eels winger had recently missed another court date while he was in Fiji to be near his sick father, who was having trouble with asthma and pulmonary tuberculosis. However, the magistrate, Timothy Keady, did not accept the doctor’s letter that Radradra provided when he tried to justify his absence from court. In fact, Mr. Keady immediately revoked his bail and also threatened to put out a warrant for his arrest if he did not present further evidence in court regarding his father's condition.
The masculine name Semi is the Finnish variant of Sema, which is the Finnish orthodox version of Simon. The name Simon is from the New Testament and is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Shim’on that means “he has heard”. The name has many different translations in the Old Testament that are all based on the spelling Simeon which is taken from the Greek Συμεων. While in the New Testament the name refers to many characters, like the man who helped carry the cross for Jesus Christ.
Another thing to keep in mind when naming your baby is whether the name is currently popular and trendy or not? Names like Calista and Leonardo are of all the rage, thanks to Ally McBeal - the hit TV series and Titanic - the movie.
