The breaking news at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games is not about the sports. Unfortunately, Ryan Lochte and three US swimmers were robbed by gunpoint, according to the U.S. Olympic Committee.
After leaving the France hospitality house on Sunday heading for the Olympic Village in a taxi, Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jimmy Feigen and Jack Conger were pulled over by cops.
At first, the swimmers were cooperating with police on Sunday, safe and sound. Then, one of the “police” pulled out a gun, cocked it and put it to the forehead of Lochte. The individuals were only posing as police officers, and robbed the Olympians of their money and personal belongings, leaving their credentials and cell phones.
Although the swimmers are shaken up, they have received overwhelming support from fans, friends, and family. In the end, the group is safe and not harmed, so let the games continue.
