There has been one person that has turned the Republican National Committee (RNC) around – Reinhold Richard “Reince” Priebus. However, this will not surprise anyone that knows the hardworking politician and chairman of the RNC. Priebus started as the chairman of his congressional district then moved up the ranks to be a national chairman.
When Priebus took over the chairman's role in the RNC, the party had a few problems, including around $25 million in debt. This did not deter Priebus, as he took the time to pay off the debt, fix the digital, political and data infrastructures to be able to compete with the Democrats.
In fact, Priebus will be serving in the coming administration as the White House Chief of Staff for President-elect Donald Trump. He is well qualified for the job according to Paul Ryan, who is the current speaker of the House of Representatives.
The masculine name Reinhold is a German cognate of Reynold, which is taken from the Germanic name Raginald. The name Raginald is made up of the elements ragin that means “advice” and wald that means “rule”. The name and its many variations were brought to Britain by the Normans, where it was reinforced by the rare Old English and Norse cognates that already existed. The name became popular in the Middle Ages but became less common in the 15th century.
There are many notable people with the name, from Reinhold Niebuhr the American theologian, commentator and public intellectual to Reinhold Gliere the Soviet and Russian composer.
