On the “International Day of the Girl,” Olivia Wilde was lucky enough to bring a brand new daughter into the world. On October 11th, the actress’s daughter couldn’t have picked a better day to arrive and greet the world.
The United Nations’ “International Day of the Girl,” is meant to raise awareness for issues that girls face and to help improve their lives.
Wilde, 32, announced the birth of Daisy Josephine Sudeikis on Instagram Sunday with a photo, with the caption, “There goes the neighborhood.” This will be Olivia’s second child with Jason Sudeikis her fiance and fellow actor. Back in 2014, the couple had a son Otis.
The couple was ready to expand their family unit. In fact, Wilde was almost desperate to have more children - the more the merrier! She grew up with many siblings and loved every minute of it.
Sudeikis starred in “the Angry Birds Movie” and use the “egg metaphor” from the movie to help explain that Otis was going to become a big brother.
The feminine name Olivia was first used by William Shakespeare in the comedy “Twelfth Night” for a character. The spelling of the name was based on the name Oliver or Olivia, or even the Latin word oliva that means “olive”. The name Oliver is taken from Olivier, which is a Norman French version of a Germanic name like Alfher which is made up of the elements alf meaning “elf” and hari meaning “army or warrior”; or the Old Norse name like Olaf that is from the name Áleifr that means “ancestor’s descendant”.
Meet Mrs. And Mr. Davidson. When their baby daughter was born, they decided to call her Mary. Mary is a lovely classic name - not overused and certainly in no way out of fashion. The middle name had to be Ann after Mary's grandmother. That was a promise. Now what did the initials spell?
