Luisa Strina – Brazilian Art Curator

Date 2017-01-30

Although the economy in Brazil is in a risky state and the domestic art market is struggling, Luisa Strina will make it through. With a solid reputation and strong international client base, she has built a foundation that will make it through the rough times ahead. She is known for working with artists like Cildo Meireles, Alexandre da Cunha, Olafur Eliasson, and Fernanda Gomes, even the estates of Lygia Pape and Robert Rauschenberg.

However, Strine is not taking any chances and she has returned to New York with the Armory Show after ten years. Back at home, as the Jardins gallery space, it is business as normal with exhibits from Jorge Macchi and Mateo Lopez. She is even using the smaller, multilevel site from much more than storage now, as demand for a project room has arisen. In 2016, Strina was named one of the year’s most influential people in the contemporary art world for her work by ArtReview magazine.
