Lin-Manuel Miranda Doing Ham4Ham on SNL

The Host of Saturday Night Live (SNL), Lin-Manuel Miranda, is bringing back Ham4Ham to the Standby Live Show. However, it will only be for the weekend, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Miranda is the creator of Hamilton and used to entertain people with an array of special guests on the sidewalk with a free performance. When Miranda found out that he’d be hosting SNL tonight, he decided to go see the people waiting in line for a chance to join the live audience. He came bearing hugs and pizza.

It was a special version of the Ham4Ham show, except it was not a lottery but a pizza giveaway! Everyone was thrilled with the extra attention and amazing food!

This was the second show after the SNL premiere, which had Miranda hosting alongside the musical guest Twenty One Pilots. There will be a gag about Hamilton on the show and an inside joke about Sex and the City where they play off of Miranda’s last name.

His name Lin-Manuel, was inspired by a poem that was written about the Vietnam War, “Nana Roja Para Mi Hijo Lin Manuel,” by Jose Manuel Torres Santiago the Puerto Rican writer. Going by the name Lin at School and Lin-Manuel while at home.

The masculine and feminine name Lin is from the Chinese word that means “forest” or “fine jade or gem”. However, the name Lin also has roots in Old English, German and Welsh languages. Whereas, the name Manuel is the Portuguese and Spanish version of Emmanuel that is taken from the Hebrew name ‘Immanu’el, which means “God is with us”.
