A few weeks ago, Leslie Jones was attacked on Twitter, now the actress has been the victim of hacking. The comedian and “Ghostbusters” co-star recently had her website Justleslie.com and cloud account hacked.
The hackers released not only sensitive pictures but privative information about the actress, states the New York Times, Mashable and L.A. Times and more.
The site was taken down almost immediately. However, not before many people on Twitter became aware of the hackers and were outraged. Around the world, many have rallied and come to Jones’ side, defending her against the terrible and sickening hate crimes – both sexist and racist.
Jones stated that she did nothing to deserve this and it’s too much for her to handle – the actress is very hurt. Twitter did take some action and suspended Milo Yiannopoulos a conservative commentator – who was allegedly trying to get others to attack the actress. Twitter also made a comment – that no one should be targeted or abused online.
The name Leslie is given to both men and women. It was taken from a Scottish surname that was derived from a place in Scotland – the Gaelic leas celyn or the “garden of holly”.
The name has been popular since the 19th century as a given name around the world. However, in America became more common in the 1940s as a feminine name. It has been given to notable people like American Actress Leslie Bibb to the American artist Leslie Erganian, and now Leslie Jones.
