Lena Dunham Clarifies Comments

After making some comments about Odell Beckham Jr. the NFL player, Lena Dunham is trying to clear the record. The actress from Girls shared her experience with the New York Giants wide receiver, while at the Met Gala.

Dunham stated on the Lenny Interview with Amy Schumer that she was next to Beckham and was amazed at how he looked at her. According to Lena, she was not his type and they were forced to sit together, and he ignored her while looking at his phone. She thought he was comparing her to others and she definitely didn’t feel like she fit in with the athletes and models at the table.

Soon after Dunham’s interview went on the air, she found out that many people had spoken out against her assumptions about Odell on Twitter. Shortly after Dunham attempt to clear things up, by posting to Twitter that Beckham was probably a great athlete and she was basically talking about her insecurities.

The feminine name Lena is a Polish, German and Scandinavian short form of Magdalena or Helena, and even a Russian version of Yelena. Magdalena is a latinate form of Magdalene, which is taken from Mary Magdalene from the New Testament. Helena is a version of Helen, which is from Greek and means “torch” or “moon”. This is a suitable name for Lena Dunham who shines brightly.

The name became popular because of Greek Mythology, as Helen was the name of the daughter of Zeus and Leda.
