It was an emotional day for Lee Corso, the ESPN analyst, as he made one more important pick – that Navy would upset Houston. He has been on ESPN’s “College GameDay” for 20 years and loves the excitement of it all.
In the end, Midshipmen had their biggest with in over 30 years, beating the cougars, 46-40. Corso was the only analyst to call the game - that Navy would come out victorious.
Corso has a signature moment during the show, where he comes out as the school mascot to show his pick for the day’s biggest game. It all began with Herbstreit’s wife, who was able to obtain the headgear of from the cheer squads of various teams - and a new tradition was born!
In fact, Corso thanked ESPN for keeping him after he had a stroke back in 2009. For those who don’t know, Corso has a soft spot for Navy, as he was an assistant coach there for a few years.
