The Australian actor, Heathcliff Andrew “Heath” Ledger, will be the focus of a new exhibition. In fact, his time in Perth will be a point of interest at the Heath Ledger: A Life In Pictures exhibition.
Ledger’s family got together with the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Western Australian Museum to make the exhibition possible. His family handed over personal effects of the actor and helped with displays.
One display will be the diary he kept while creating the legendary role as The Joker in “The Dark Knight,” back in 2008. In fact, the Academy Award Ledger received for the Batman movie will be on display as well.
Ledger was born in Perth back in 1979, where he found a passion for acting while in school. He got the lead in the Peter Pan production in school and never looked back.
He left to pursue an acting career in Sydney at the young age of 16. In 1999, he got his “big break” when he was cast in the romantic comedy “10 Things I Hate About You”. He was also well known for his role in “The Patriot” and Brokeback Mountain” before he passed away in 2008.
The masculine name Heathcliff means “from the heath cliff” or “from the cliff with heath”. The name was created for a novel, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte. The name was just made up of the two words heath and cliff from the English language. A heath is just a shrubland, which is low-growing, woody plant life that is located in open areas with infertile acidic soil.
