The Australian musician, Fergus Miller, who went by the name Bored Nothing, has died at the age of 26 years old. In fact, the death was reported by Brisbane band Major Leagues on their Facebook page.
The band explained that he suffered from depression and was a dear friend they will miss dearly. Not only that but he was also a talented writer and musician.
Miller released many songs in different names including Bored Nothing, Wedding Ring Bells and Pansy. Not to mention all his other work with musicians and other artists.
The band commented that they were lucky to have known him and that he enriched their lives with his friendship and warmth. Before depression took its toll on the musician, he had written many songs and was in a couple of bands including Wedding Ring Bells and Revenge Surgery. His style has been compared to Elliot Smith, but in general, his music is considered to be shoegaze or dream pop.
After suffering from depression for a long time, Miller committed suicide, leaving behind his wife Anna Davidson. He has received tributes from many different Australian bands, from Major Leagues to the John Steel Singers.
The masculine name Fergus is the Anglicized form of Fearghas, which means “man of vigour”. The name is derived the two Gaelic elements: fear meaning “man” and gus meaning “vigour”. The name first became common after it was used as the name of many characters in Irish legend, like the Ulster hero - Fearghas mac Róich.
