Fahd Al Rasheed – CEO in Saudi Arabia

Currently, in Saudi Arabia, the biggest construction project in the world is happening and Fahd Al Rasheed is the man behind it. The megaproject costs $100 billion and is called the King Abdullah Economic City, which is being constructed from scratch just north of Jeddah.

The Economic City will be located at the heart of the city center and has an expected capacity of 2 million people. The city will have a large port at the center, as well as, residential communities, an industrial valley, technology clusters, hospitals, and universities.

The city will be hooked up to Jeddah and the other holy cities by the eastern side of the Haramain Station with the high-speed rail network. In fact, the city has already given 12,000 people jobs and more than 70 companies are setting up, from Pfizer to Mars, even local giants like the Naghi Group and Abdul Latif Jameel.

The project is expected to be finished in the next decade and will be approximately as big as Washington, DC. The time will be spent on expanding the recreational and residential sections of the city to make it an ideal place to work and live in Saudi Arabia, according to Al Rasheed.

The masculine name Fahd means “panther” in Arabic. There are many notable people with the name, from Fahd of Saudi Arabia the king from 1982 until 2005, to Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud is ae member of the House of Saud and the former deputy defense minister.
