Donna Brazile has resigned from CNN after being linked to the hacked emails from the Hillary Clinton campaign. In fact, WikiLeaks showed that Brazile has shared questions for Clinton, who was sponsored by CNN, with some friends on the campaign trail.
As a veteran political analyst for CNN, Ms. Brazile was put on leave, after she became the interim chairwoman for the Democratic National Committee. After the news surfaced about her involvement in the Clinton campaign, Brazile put in her resignation.
A spokesman for the network, Lauren Pratapas stated that CNN was uncomfortable with what transpired in the Clinton campaign. Brazile was never given access to any prep material, questions, attendee lists, meetings or background information in advance of a debate, according to CNN.
This has put the network into a spotlight, as they are accused of playing partisan politics and making politicians sound like on-air commentators. However, the infractions made by Ms. Brazile could be even more damaging to the network, as it undercuts the impartiality of the event and network.
