Derren Brown is a Threat to the Public

Date 10/11/2016

The magician, Derren Brown shocked many people when he made an audience member eat glass as part of his performance. The mind-reader and hypnotist brought a lady up on stage and convinced her to not only eat glass but to wash it down with a piece of apple.

Channel 4 viewers were not only disturbed when they saw the scenes from his last show but they thought he was becoming a national threat to security. In fact, one fan was so concerned with his show that they thought the Government should get involved and put Brown on their watch list.

Brown had created a series of brand new tricks and decided to try them out on the theater goers. However, it turned out that this was no trick, it was simply mind over matter. In fact, anyone is capable of doing this - but only if he is around to coach them through it.

The masculine name Derren is a variant of Darren, however, the meaning of the name is not known for certain. Some believe that it could be taken from a rare Irish surname, while others think that it could be another version of Darrell. The masculine name Darrell is taken from an English surname that was derived the Norman French d’Airelle, that was used to denote one who came from the city Arielle in France.

The name became common in the late 1950s due to the fame of the American actor Darren McGavin. Then became even more popular after the character from “Bewitched” - Darrin Stephens.
