According to Cindy Meston, “Many people still believe sex cannot be studied in a lab and such research is not worthy of funding – I disagree.” Meston is a Professor of clinical psychology that studied at the University of British Columbia in Canada.

Meston was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. She attended the University of British Columbia where she received a bachelor's in psychology, a masters in clinical psychology, and finally a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.

Currently, Meston works as the director of the Sexual Psychophysiology Laboratory and teaches at the University of Texas in Austin. She is well-known for her research on the female orgasm. In fact, she wrote a book titled, “Why Women Have Sex,” and explained the 237 motivations for females. In 2016, Meston was selected by BBC as one of the 100 most influential women, due to her research on sex.
