Celine Dion Takes The Twins To Disneyland

The 6th birthday of Celine Dion’s twins was celebrated at Disneyland on Sunday. The two boys, Eddy and Nelson were thrilled to be celebrating at the “Happiest Place on Earth”.

Dion even shared a picture of herself with the twins and her 15-year-old son – Rene-Charles. The picture was taken on a magical day and had the caption - “Family time in Disneyland for the twins’ 6th birthday!”

This was a big day for the family, as it was the first birthday to be celebrated without their father – Rene Angelil, who died from throat cancer in January. It was hard for the singer to reach out to her sons after the passing of her husband, but she eventually found a way through film, in particular, Pixar’s “Up”.

The 48-year-old singer has struggled ever since Angelil passed, but the movie “Up” seemed to save her life and the family. She explained that the twins “Papa” was with the movies character, Ellie, who passed away in the movie.

As music was a large part of the Dion family, Celine was named after a song by the French singer Hugues Aufray - “Celine”. The French name Celine is the female version of Caelinus, which is a Roman family name that was derived from Caelius. The name Caelius is taken from the Latin word caelum that means “heaven”.

It is also believed to be a short form of the name Marceline that is the French female version of Marcellinus, which is another Roman family name that is derived from Marcellus that is a diminutive of Marcus. Ultimately derived from the Roman god Mars that is related to the Latin word mas meaning “male”.
