One of the most popular golfers in the world has passed away – Arnold Palmer. The championship golfer had many dramatic tournament victories, an aggressive style of play and a personality that was magnetic. He inspired a golf boom in America – attracting “Arnie’s Army.”
According to a close friend of the family, the family has requested anonymity to deal with the loss and make the statement. Palmer died at the age of 87.
Throughout the 60s, Palmer was the face of golf and a dominant player in the league. Over seven seasons, he took home seven major titles, including a United States Open, four Masters and two British Opens. Arnold has 62 victories in the PGA tour, which ranked him among the top golfers in the world.
