As the current Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed is the leader of the All Progressives Congress. Previously, she was the Minister of Environment of Nigeria, and was a star among the others in Buhari’s cabinet.
As the former Minister, she lead negotiations at the Cop 21 climate talks on behalf of Nigeria and supervised the start-up and leadership for the cleanup of Ogoniland. This was recommended by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report on many different sites, including Ogoniland, in 2011.
From being a key part of the Post-2015 development process to being an advisor to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Mohammed has been working hard for many years. In 2016, Y! or Ynaija.com named Mohammed one of the 100 most influential people in Nigeria.
