An Australian teenager, Ali Ziggy Mosslmani, is suing over a picture taken by a hired photographer that was posted to Facebook and went viral as a meme. The picture of “Ziggy” was taken at the 18th birthday party of a close friend Paul Behman.
The reason the photograph went viral was due to his hair. The teenager has an impressive mullet, which is long at the back and shaved on the sides. This style has not been in fashion since the 1970s and 80s, it's just not popular with millennials.
Currently the photograph as over 10,000 reactions and more than 11,000 comments on Facebook. Not to mention the endless amount of memes that have been created.
Ziggy was not happy with how the memes have portrayed him - as ugly. Plus the endless ridicule over his look is too much. He is now suing an Australian Radio Network, Sydney’s Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail for defamation.
In a surprising twist, one of the biggest fans of the memes is Paul Behman, who is Ziggy’s friend. Despite the fact that he enjoys the memes, Behman supports Ziggy’s right to sue.
