Although babies are able to sense the smell and voice of their mother, but they are not able to make out the difference between their and mother and other adults quite quickly, this takes time.

Since babies are not able to recall what they have done till the age of 3, their recording machine in the brain is not functional till then. Hence, they don’t remember pretty much anything once they grow up.
