Trini Lopez: is a Mexican-American singer and guitarist.Lopez made his name on the club circuit of the Southwestern United States before being 'discovered' in 1962 playing at the club PJ's in Hollywood, by record producer Don Costa. Costa was greatly taken with Lopez's Latinized versions of contemporary hits and signed him up to Frank Sinatra's record label, Reprise Records. His debut album, Trini Lopez Live at PJ's, was released in 1963.

He is best remembered for playing troublesome Jesus Martinez on the television series Hill Street Blues. Silva was born in Mission, Texas. He died in a car accident involving a collision with a drunk driver in Whittier, California while filming the "Weird Al" Yankovic movie UHF, which had to be significantly rewritten. The film was dedicated to his memory.
