It was a first vice- president of the province of Santa Catarina , appointed by imperial letter of June 22 of 1889 and chaired the Province temporarily for June 26th to July 19th of 1889 . He was also vice-governor of the state of Santa Catarina, assuming the government of September 28 to November 21 of 1906 , at the time the governor Lauro Müller held the portfolio of Ministry of Industry, Transport and Public Works in the government Rodrigues Alves .
