Teiji Ito: was a Japanese composer and performer. He is best known for his scores for the avant-garde films by Maya Deren.Ito was born in Tokyo, Japan into a theatrical family. His father, Yuji Ito, was a composer and costume designer, and his mother, Teiko Ono, was a dancer who worked in both traditional and classical genres. Ito moved with his family to New York at the age of six. In 1952, at the age of seventeen, he began composing music for the films of Maya Deren. He traveled with her to Haiti in 1955, learning ceremonial and secular drumming techniques from the legendary Haitian musician Coyote.

Teiji Honma: was an ice hockey goaltender who represented Japan at the 1936 Winter Olympics, held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany.[1]Honma was 25 years old at the time he represented Japan, as a member of the Manchurian Medical University ice hockey team. Honma was born in Manchuria, which was occupied by Japan in 1936.[2]During the Olympics, Honma was one of the first goaltenders to have worn a goaltender mask. In 1927, Elizabeth Graham, playing for the Queen's University women's ice hockey team, used a fencing mask at the insistence of her father.[3] Three years later, Clint Benedict, playing for the Montreal Maroons of the National Hockey League, used a leather mask to protect his broken nose.[3] He quickly discarded it, as the nosepiece obstructed his vision.[2] In contrast, Jacques Plante invented and started regularly using the first practical goaltender mask in 1959,[2] while the last North American professional goaltender not to regularly wear a mask was Andy Brown, who played his last game maskless in 1974 (he retired in 1977).[4]

Teiji Takagi: was a Japanese mathematician, best known for proving the Takagi existence theorem in class field theory.He was born in the mountainous and rural region of Gifu, Japan. He began learning mathematics in middle school, reading texts in English since none were available in Japanese. After attending a high school for gifted students , he went on to the University of Tokyo, at that time the only university in Japan. There he learned mathematics from such European classic texts as Salmon's Algebra and Weber's Lehrbuch der Algeba. Aided by Hilbert, he then studied at Göttingen. Aside from his work in algebraic number theory he wrote a great number of Japanese textbooks on mathematics and geometry, and was also instrumental during World War II in the development of the Japanese encryption system.
