He is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and was a member of the House of Councillors of Japan.He used to be a professor of Tokai University whose main subject is international politics and was first elected to a member of the House of Councillors on 23 July 1995. He had been a member since then until July 2007 and Vice Minister of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of the Abe Cabinet since September 2006 until August 2007. He was a tutor of the School of Politics for Women (?????????????).

T?ru Takemitsu: was a Japanese composer and writer on aesthetics and music theory. Though largely self-taught, Takemitsu is recognised for his skill in the subtle manipulation of instrumental and orchestral timbre, drawing from a wide range of influences, including jazz, popular music, avant-garde procedures and traditional Japanese music, in a harmonic idiom largely derived from the music of Claude Debussy and Olivier Messiaen.[1][2] In 1958, the international attention he drew with his Requiem for strings (1957) resulted in several commissions from across the world, and settled his reputation as the leading Japanese composer of the 20th century.[3] He was the recipient of numerous awards, commissions and honours; he composed over one hundred film scores[4][5] and about one hundred and thirty concert works[5] for ensembles of various sizes and combinations.[6] He also found time to write a detective novel, and appeared frequently on Japanese television as a celebrity chef.[7]

Fujinishiki Takemitsu: was a sumo wrestler from Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. After his retirement he was the head coach of Takasago stable. He was seen in the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice, fighting in a bout against Kotozakura.

He closed off 2005 with an impressive win of 16 straight games, which was stopped by Omori Yasushi in the qualifiers for the 3rd World Oza. Outside of Go, Takemiya also won the biggest Japanese backgammon tournament, the 12th Saint of the Board title, by beating the former holder, Abe Akiko.
