Takahashi Chikuzan: a renowned Japanese Tsugaru-jamisen performer and composer.He was born in Kominato, a village that is part of the Hiranai township in Aomori Prefecture. He lost his sight at around age two from measles before becoming a live-in apprentice of the Tsugaru-jamisen performer Toda Jujiro near his home town. Before World War II he spent many years touring the Aomori and surrounding countryside, playing before doorsteps and making money any way he could. After the war he became more widely known, first as an accompanist for the famous Tsugaru folk song singer Narita Unchiku (who named him "Chikuzan"), and subsequently as a solo performer of the Tsugaru-jamisen repertory

He was the chairman of the GT-Association, the organizers of the Super GT series, from 1993 to 2007.In 1961, Takahashi became the first Japanese rider to win a motorcycle Grand Prix riding a 250cc Honda to victory at Hockenheim. His best finishes were a fourth place in the 1961 250 world championship and a fourth place in the 1962 125 world championship, both times on a Honda.[1] He was seriously injured in the 1962 Isle of Man TT and switched to car racing in 1965. He won four Grands Prix in his motorcycle racing career.

Toru Takahashi: was a Japanese race car driver.In 1982, he was runner-up in Japanese Formula 3.[1] The following year, he ran a duel campaign, racing in the Grand Champion Series and also stepping up to Japanese Formula 2[2].Takahashi was killed in the fourth and final round of the Grand Champion Series race at Fuji Speedway, Japan, in 1983, at the age of 23. One unknown female spectator was also killed in the accident.[2]
