Shinji Hamazaki: was a former Japanese baseball player. Signed by the Hankyu Braves in 1947 prior to the draft, and played for the Industrial League Mantetsu Club. He was also a member of the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.

Shinji Mori: a right-handed pitcher who had a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Originally slated to compete for the Devil Ray's closer job during the 2006 MLB season, he tore the labrum in his shoulder and missed the entire season. He was subsequently released by the Devil Rays. From 1997-2005, he played for the Seibu Lions in Nippon Professional Baseball.
