Kaneko Kentaro: was a statesman and diplomat in Meiji period Japan.In 1880, Kaneko was appointed as a secretary in the Genroin, and in 1884 had joined the Office for Investigation of Institutions, the body organized by the Genroin to study the constitutions of various western nations with the aim of creating a western-style constitution for Japan.Kaneko worked closely with Ito Hirobumi, Inoue Kowashi and Ito Miyoji, and became personal secretary to Ito Hirobumi when the latter became first Prime Minister of Japan. In 1889, Kaneko became first president of the predecessor to Nippon University, a post he held until 1893.

Jutok Kaneko: was a Japanese guitarist and vocalist, and is best known for his work with Tokyo underground psychedelic rock group Kousokuya (???), who specialised in rock-based soundscapes characterised by the feeling of infinite space, desolate emotion and imminent chaos.Kaneko was born in the city of Maebashi in Gunma prefecture in 1958. He started studying guitar around 1972, and in 1975 he formed a group called Kokugaiso (???) with Masayuki Noguchi (????). The group specialized in multi-media performance, blending poetry with music, art and dance. After moving to Tokyo, Kaneko continued to work perform using the Kokugaiso name. Concurrently, he formed a rock group called Kousokuya in 1978, with Mick (vocals), Hiroshi Yokoyama (synthesizer), and Toshiko Watanabe (drums). The group played their first gig at the Tokyo underground venue Minor in 1979,

Misuzu Kaneko: was a Japanese poet and songwriter. Born Kaneko Teru in Senzaki-mura, now part of Nagato, Yamaguchi prefecture, Senzaki was a fishing village, relying particularly on catches of Japanese sardine. Scenes of fishing and the sea often make appearances in her poems. Her carrer as a writer of poerty for children began in earnest at the age of twenty, shortly after she became the manager and sole employee of a small bookstore in Shinmonoseki,a town at the southern tip of Honshu. Here she discovered a clutch of magazines which were riding the crest of a boom in children's literature and which solicited stories and verse from their readers. Kaneko sent in a number of poems
