Inoue Kaoru: was a Japanese statesman and a member of the Meiji oligarchy that ruled Japan during the Meiji period (1868–1912).Born Yakichi (??) to a lower-ranked samurai family in Hagi, Choshu Domain (present day Yamaguchi Prefecture), Inoue attended the Meirinkan Domain school with his brother Ikutaro (???). He was a close boyhood friend of Ito Hirobumi who later became Japan's first prime minister, and he played an active part in the sonno joi movement. In 1858, he studied rangaku, artillery and swordsmanship in Edo.

Inoue Kowashi: was a statesman in Meiji period Japan.Inoue was born into a samurai family in Higo Province (present-day Kumamoto Prefecture), as the third son of Karo Iida Gongobei. In 1866 Kowashi was adopted by Inoue Shigesaburo, another retainer of the Nagaoka daimyo. Known as a highly intelligent child, Inoue entered the domain's Confucian academy, eventually becoming one of the academy's resident students. He fought on the imperial side in the Boshin War to overthrow the Tokugawa bakufu.

Kenkabo Inoue: was the pen-name of a journalist and writer of senryu (short, humorous verse) in late Meiji, Taisho and early Showa period Japan. His real name was Inoue Koichi.In 1905, Kenkabo founded a poetry group called Ryusonji Senryu Kai, which brought out its own short-lived literary magazine called Senryu. After retiring from working as an employee of the Nihon Shimbun newspaper, Kenkabo continued to manage the senryu columns of the Kokumin Shimbun and Yomiuri Shimbun newspapers and later resurrected Senryu in 1912, renaming it Taisho Senryu, to mark the beginning of the new Taisho period.

He was originally from Asahikawa, Hokkaido.Inoue is famous for his serious historical fiction of ancient Japan and the Asian continent, including Wind and Waves, Tun-huang, and Confucius, but his work also included semi-autobiographical novels and short fiction of great humor, pathos, and wisdom like Shirobamba and Asunaro Monogatari, which depicted the setting of the author's own life--Japan of the early to mid twentieth century--in revealing perspective.

Rena Inoue: an American pair skater. With partner John Baldwin, she is the 2004 and 2006 U.S. National Champion. Inoue previously competed for Japan as both a single skater and pair skater. Inoue and Baldwin are the first skaters to perform a throw triple axel in competition.Rena Inoue was born in 1976 in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan. She moved to the United States in 1996 at the urging of her father, who had been diagnosed with lung cancer. In 1998, Inoue was diagnosed with cancer. It was detected early, and after six months of chemotherapy, she was cancer-free.

Gennan Inseki Inoue: was a Japanese professional go player, and head of the Inoue house from 1824-1846. He proposed a changed numbering that made him the eleventh head (rather than tenth), by including Doseki at the head of the list.At various times he was known as Hattori Rittetsu, Inoue Ansetsu, Intetsu, Gen(n)an Inseki, Inoue Genan Inseki. A talented player at the highest level, but unlucky in practical terms, he cuts a romantic figure even at this distance. He was involved in one of the most famous games, the game against Honinbo Shusaku containing the 'ear-reddening move'.

Shinji Inoue            Origin/Culture/Country: Japanese

Shinji Inoue: a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Chiyoda, Tokyo and graduate of the University of Tokyo, he joined the Ministry of Construction in 1994, which later became part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. While in the ministry, he received a master's degree from the University of Cambridge in England. Leaving the ministry in 2003, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in the same year.
