Though he never used the title of President, but the one of Vice President of Colombia in charge of the Executive authority from 1894-1896 and 1896-1898., by respect to his mentor Rafael Núñez, whose illness forced him to cede day-to-day power.

Born in New York City to parents from Rincón, Puerto Rico, she initiated her career in the arts at a very young age while living in New York. Julio De Caro: was an Argentine composer, musician and conductor prominent in the Tango genre.Julio de Caro was born to José de Caro and Matilde Ricciardi de Caro in the Balvanera section of Buenos Aires, in 1899. His parents, Italian immigrants from the Lombardy region of Italy, both had professional backgrounds in music: his mother had been a singer and his father, a musician in Milan's famed opera house, La Scala.His father opened a conservatory in the San Telmo district, in 1913, soon becoming one of the city's best known sources for music, instruments, parts, and lessons. He and his brother, Francisco, were both taught the piano and violin, respectively; though their father ultimately granted them their wish to exchange instruments (a third brother, Emilio, learned the violin). Nikodem Caro: was an industrial chemist and entrepreneur.[1][2] Caro was born in Lódz, and studied chemistry in Berlin at the Royal Technical College of Charlottenburg (now Technical University of Berlin) and got his doctorate from Rostock University. From 1895 on he worked in the Deutsche Dynamit AG with Adolf Frank on the development of calcium cyanamide as a means of fixing nitrogen, hence the Frank-Caro process. Caro became an important figure in the nitrogen fixation industry and a rival of Fritz Haber.[3]
