Evangelos Papastratos: was a Greek businessman born in the city of Agrinio in the Etoloakarnania prefecture. He was born in Amfilochia in the Aetolia-Acarnania prefecture. He was the first of the brothers of his family and he was educated with the cigarette factory. The cigarettes of Papastratiou Brothers became the most famous in Greece until the rise in foreign cigarettes in the 1970s and the 1980s. The family had made many gifts across Agrinio. Papastratos also wrote a book called I douleia kai o kopos tis (? d???e?? ?a? ? ??p?? t??).

Evangelos Zappas: was a Greek-Romanian[3] businessman and philanthropist. He is recognized today as a founder of the Olympic Games, who sponsored the Olympic Games of 1859, 1870, and 1875, and preceded the Olympic Games that came under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee.[1][4] These Games, known at the time simply as Olympics, came before the founding of the International Olympic Committee. The legacy of Evangelis Zappas, as well as the legacy of his cousin Konstantinos Zappas, was also used to fund the Olympic Games of 1896.[5]

Evangelos Averoff-Tositsas: was a distinguished liberal Greek politician of Aromanian origin and a prominent author.[citation needed] During the tripartite Axis occupation of Greece, Averoff was taken hostage and imprisoned in Italy. He escaped a year later and created the "Freedom or Death" resistance group, which aimed to liberate Greek and Allied war hostages.
