Marquard Gude: was a German archaeologist and classical scholar, most famous for his collection of Greek and Latin inscriptions. During his travels Gude seized the opportunity of copying inscriptions and manuscripts. At the earnest request of his pupil, who had become greatly attached to him, Gude refused more than one professional appointment, and it was not until 1671 that he accepted the post of librarian to Duke Christian Albert of Holstein-Gottorp.

Karl Heinz Marquardt: is a German-born marine modeller, artist and author. He served his country in World War II with the German Navy, subsequently joining the post-war British-led German Minesweeping Administration.[2] In 1949, Marquardt joined forces with his father, creating a multitude of new exhibits and restoring antique artefacts across the whole spectrum of ship evolution for museums damaged during the war. His expertise was utilised by private and corporate clients including a German model manufacturer, several shipyards, and in twelve prestigious museums across Europe.[3]
