Josip Šimunic: is a Croatian Australian football central defender. He plays for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the Croatian national team. He received early football training at the Australian Institute of Sport. The defender broke into the Melbourne Knights first team as a teenager in the 1995–96 season and ended it with a championship medal and 1996 NSL Youth Player of the Year award. Šimunic scored his first goals the following term, three in 14 outings, before moving to Europe to join Hamburger SV in 1998. He played all three of Croatia's matches in Korea and Japan. He also played in the Euro 2004, the 2006 World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008, performing well in the latter tournament.

Gejza Josipovic: was a Croatian unionist politician, who served as Minister without portfolio of Croatian Affairs twice: between 1906–1910 and after a short period between 1910–1913. His father was Emerik Josipovic, who also served in this position. Gejza graduated in the Budapest University's Faculty of Law. He participated in the occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1887 he became member of the Parliament of Croatia. After the Treaty of Trianon he lived in Hungary.

Ivo Josipovic: is a Croatian politician, the third and current President of Croatia, having taken office in 2010. Josipovic entered politics as a member of the League of Communists of Croatia (SKH), and played a key role in the democratic transformation of this party as the author of the first statute of the SDP that replaced the SKH-SKJ. He left politics in 1994, but returned in 2003 as an independent Member of Parliament. In addition to politics, Josipovic has also worked as a university professor, legal expert, musician and composer. Josipovic entered the 2009–2010 presidential election as the official candidate of the SDP, which he had rejoined in 2008. In the first round he topped eleven rivals with 32.4% of the vote, and entered the second round with the independent candidate Milan Bandic who had secured 14.8%. He went from being almost unknown to the general public in Croatia to winning 60.26% in the final election. He campaigned for Nova Pravednost (New Justice), calling for a new social and legal framework to address the deep social injustices, corruption and organised crime. This includes the protection of individual rights and the promotion of such fundamental values as equality, human rights, LGBT rights, justice, diligence, social empathy and creativity.
