Edme-Jean Leclaire: was a French economist and businessman. He developed an early system of employee profit-sharing. Leclaire was born the son of a poor village shoemaker, in Aisy-sur-Armançon, a small village in the district of Tonnerre, department of Yonne in France. He was a successful contractor glazier-painter, employing from 60 to 80 workers. The Society of Providence and Mutual Aid of the workers and employees of the Leclaire Company, which he founded, was authorized by the French Minister of the Interior on September 28, 1838. Leclaire subsequently served as Mayor of the town of Herblay, a commune in the north-western suburbs of Paris, France.[2]

Edmé Bouchardon: was a French sculptor, esteemed in his day as the greatest sculptor of his time[1] and valued as a draughtsman as well.[2] In 1746 he produced his first acclaimed masterpiece, "Cupid fashioning a Bow out of the Club of Hercules" (Musée du Louvre[4], which struck early viewers as shockingly crude in its unidealised naturalism. Of his two other leading chefs-d'oeuvre the survivor is the Fontaine des Quatre-Saisons in the rue de Grenelle, Paris,[5] commissioned by the city of Paris in 1739, the first portions of which had been finished and exhibited in 1740, and the completed work

He began by studying drawing with Francois Devosge at the school in Dijon, then going to follow Jean Guillaume Moitte's course at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He won the second prize for sculpture in 1791 with Pericles coming to visit Anaxagoras, and the first prize for sculpture (Prix de Rome) in 1803 for Ulysses recognising his nurse Eurycleia

Castaing was taken to Paris, where an investigation commenced that lasted 5 months. For the first three days Castaing feigned insanity but soon gave it up. He was then moved to Versailles prison.[3]
