Pedro Ortiz Davila: was a popular singer of boleros and Puerto Rican patriotic songs.In 1929, 17 year old Davilita met by chance the renowned Puerto Rican composer, Rafael Hernandez. Davilita got along with Hernandez and was able to see the unfinished version of Hernandez's composition "Lamento Borincano". Davilita asked Hernandez if he could record the song but, Hernandez thought that he was too young and declined his request.

José Antonio Dávila: was a well-known poet during Puerto Rico's postmodern era of poetry.In 1918, he enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico and later transferred to Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia where he studied medicine, earning his medical degree in 1924. After graduating he established his medical practice in that city. He was married to Alma Blake with whom he had a son (José Antonio Dávila, Jr.). Dávila became ill and had to abandon his medical practice. He was interned at the Saranac Lake Hospital in New York, but returned to Puerto Rico in 1930.

Virgilio Dávila: was a Puerto Rican poet, an educator, politician and businessman. He is considered by many to be one of Puerto Rico's greatest representatives of the modern literary era.Dávila was influenced by the literary collection of his parents, both of whom were teachers, at an early age. He attended private schools were he received both his primary and secondary education. Dávila earned his Bachelors degree from the Civil Institute of Higher Learning in 1895. He taught school in the town of Gurabo.

Luis Sáenz Peña Dávila: was a lawyer and President of Argentina.He graduated in law from the University of Buenos Aires, and participated in the constitutional assembly of 1860. He was a number of times a national deputy and senator. In 1882 he occupied a seat on the Supreme Court of the Province of Buenos Aires. Later he was employed as president of the Provincial Bank, director of the Academy of Jurisprudence, and had a seat in the General Council of Education.
