Vilho Petter Nenonen: was a Finnish general.Received his military education in the Hamina Cadet School 1896-1901, in the Mihailov Artillery School in St Petersburg 1901-1903, and in St Petersburg Artillery Academy 1906-1909. He served in the Russian army during World War I. When the Finnish Civil War began he moved to Finland and was given the job of creating the artillery of general Mannerheim's White Army. After the war he also served as the Minister of Defence between 1923 and 1924. During the Continuation War he was a part of Mannerheim's inner circle. He was promoted to the rank of General of the artillery in 1941.

Vilho Immanuel ("Ville") Tuulos: was a Finnish triple jumper and long jumper, who was born in Tampere. He won an Olympic gold medal in triple jump in the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp.The 14.50 meter jumps he took during qualifying were counted during the main event and were enough for the win. Tuulos also won bronze in the 1924 and 1928 Olympics. In long jump, his best result was a fourth place in the 1924 Olympics.

Notably, in 1953 he was one of the founders of 'Kivi-juhlat’ (a theatre festival based in the childhood town of Aleksis Kivi) and was its first director. In addition he authored two books, Myllykylästä Maailmalle (1975) and Maailmassa Maailmaa (1983).
