Hannu Olavi Mikkola: a retired world champion rally driver. He was a seven time winner of the 1000 Lakes Rally in Finland and won the RAC Rally in Great Britain four times.Mikkola's rally career spanned 31 years, starting with a Volvo PV 544 in 1963, but his most successful period was during the 1970s and 1980s. The 1970s saw Mikkola a frontrunner in many international events, usually in a Ford Escort, and 1979 he made a serious challenge at the World Rally Championship title, ultimately finishing runner-up only one point behind champion Björn Waldegård.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics, he won a gold medal in the 4 x 5 km team event at the age of 23. He has five other Nordic skiing World Championships medals, earning three golds (4 x 5 km team: 1999, 2007 and 7.5 km sprint: 2007) and two bronzes (4 x 5 km team: 2001, 2003). He has two other Olympic team medals as well (silver: 1998, bronze: 2006).

Alexander Murray Hannum: was a professional basketball player and Hall-of-Fame coach.Hannum is mostly known for coaching the Wilt Chamberlain-led Philadelphia 76ers of 1966-67 to the NBA championship, ending the eight-year title streak of the Boston Celtics. He had also coached the Bob Pettit-led St. Louis Hawks team to the 1958 NBA Championship over the Celtics in the NBA Finals, thus making him the first of only three head coaches in NBA history to win championships with two different teams (the other two are Phil Jackson and Pat Riley). The aforementioned seasons were the only two in Celtics center Bill Russell's 13-year career in which he did not win an NBA championship. In 1964, Hannum was named NBA Coach of the Year while with the San Francisco Warriors.
