Tielman Johannes De Villiers Roos: was a right wing South African politician and sometime Cabinet minister.Roos made his name as the leader of a group of young members of the South African Party who were opposed to the creation of the Union of South Africa by Louis Botha.[1] Roos and his followers fell in with Daniel François Malan and he was a founding member of the National Party.[1] As head of the party in Transvaal Roos sought to build a following amongst the white workers in the area, supporting mine workers' strikes in 1918.[2] Roos' connections to the working class voters was instrumental in securing the National Party's coalition with the South African Labour Party that led to their victory in the 1924 election.[3]

Eduard ("Eddy") Herbert Tiel: was a Dutch field hockey player who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics and in the 1952 Summer Olympics.In 1948 he was a member of the Dutch field hockey team, which won the bronze medal. He played all seven matches as halfback.
