After playing a while in Feijenoord's youth squads Van Daele was promoted into the first team selection and he made his official debut on 5 May 1968 when Feijenoord beat Sittardia 5-1. Van Daele was part of the most successful period in Feijenoord's history, starting with an Eredivisie Championship in the 1968-69 season. The following season Feijenoord and Van Daele won the European Cup 1969-70 and were crowned the best team in Europe, to eventually become the best team of the world after Estudiantes La Plata was beaten in the final of the Intercontinental Cup.
