Florian Vijent: was a Dutch-Suriname football goalkeeper. During his career he served Telstar. He died at the age of 27, when on June 7, 1989 he was killed in the Surinam Airways Flight PY764 air crash in Paramaribo. He is not related to Ed Vijent.Vijent was a big guy, which was the main reason for him to become a goalkeeper. At the end of the 1988-89 season he was named as "Best goalkeeper of the season" in the Eerste Divisie. Vijent was a look-a-like of fellow goalkeeper Stanley Menzo who played for AFC Ajax. They were close friends and Menzo often borrowed Vijent's drivers license.
