Dirck Helmbreker: was a Dutch Baroque painter and draughtsman who worked primarily in Rome.[1] His paintings belong to the group of artists known as the Bamboccianti, and, like other northern artists working in this style, he specialised in small-scale genre scenes in the manner of Pieter van Laer.

Dirck Volckertszoon Coornhert: was a Dutch writer, philosopher, translator, politician and theologian.He was the youngest son of Volckert Coornhert, an Amsterdam cloth merchant. As a child he spent some years in Spain and Portugal. Returning home, he was disinherited by his father's will, for his marriage with Cornelia (Neeltje) Simons, a portionless gentlewoman. He took for a time the post of major-domo to Reginald (Reinoud), count of Brederode. Soon he settled in Haarlem, as engraver on copper, and produced works in collaboration with Maarten van Heemskerck which became highly popular.[1]

Dirck Jansz Pesser: was a Dutch brewer from Rotterdam and an important member of that city's active Remonstrant community in the early 17th century.Dirck posed for the famous Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn in 1634. The painting is presently on display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The piece was acquired by the Frances and Armand Hammer Purchase Fund.
