Coming on as a substitute against Manchester United F.C. at Old Trafford in only his second appearance for the club, he was almost immediately red carded for "a sickening horror two footed tackle" on Gary Neville[1], after which he fled the club and wasn't heard from for several weeks, eventually being found living on a Dutch caravan site. He was later loaned out to FC Groningen. However, he remains on good terms with his old manager; Harry Redknapp and still has hope of one day returning to the premiership to finish off Gary Neville.
