After being selected few times for the Dutch national team, he continued his career in 1969 in Belgium to play for Club Brugge K.V. and in his first season his team won the Belgian Cup and the championship in 1973. He was transferred to Royal Antwerp FC in 1975 but 6 month later, he sustained an injury in a UEFA Cup match against Slask Wroclaw that ended his career.
