Korey Damont Stringer: Stringer was born in Warren, Ohio and attended Ohio State University. The Vikings drafted him in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He was a standout on the offensive line, earning Pro Bowl honors in what turned out to be his final season. The Vikings retired his jersey number "77" during the 2001 NFL season. Stringer's widow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the team and doctors. Parts of her lawsuit were later thrown out.

Koreyoshi Kurahara: was a Japanese screenwriter and director. He is perhaps best known for directing Antarctica (1983), which won several awards. He also co-directed Hiroshima (1995) with Roger Spottiswoode, which was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries.He was the nephew of literary critic Korehito Kurahara, and older brother of film director Koretsugu Kurahara. His son Jun Iwasaki, a former producer for Ishihara International Productions Inc., is currently secretary to politician Nobuteru Ishihara.
