Kari Väänänen: is a Finnish actor. Domestically he is a member of the Ryhmäteatteri group of actors. He was introduced to international audiences by Aki Kaurismäki; and belongs to the list of his "trusted" stable of actors.So far his most challenging role has undoubtedly been the eponymous mafia hitman of Rosso, for which he learned all his lines phonetically, without previously speaking a word of Italian.

Kari Asikainen: is a Finnish interior designer and former Professor of Industrial Furniture Design at MUOVA, the Design Centre of Western Finland in Vaasa (1988-1994). He has also taught at University of Art and Design Helsinki (known in Finnish as TAIK) (1973-1988). Asikainen studied at the Institute for Applied Arts (forerunner to TAIK), completing his studies in 1966. His most well-known design is for the Kari Chair (1982), for which he was awarded the SIO (Finnish Association of Interior Architects) 1982 award for best piece of furniture for a public space. In 1984 he won the prestigious State Applied Arts Commission's Award.

Kari Härkönen: is a former Finnish cross country skier who competed during the early 1980s. He won two medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with a gold in the 15 km in 1985 and a bronze in the 4 x 10 km (1982, shared with East Germany). He was born in Ristijärvi.

Kari Ristanen: was a Finnish cross-country skier who competed during the 1980's. He won a bronze medal in the 4 x 10 km relay at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.Ristanen also won a silver in the 4 x 10 km relay at the 1989 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti.
