Yan Jiankui: is a retired Chinese sprinter.Her personal best times were both achieved in 1998. She ran the 100 m in 11.22 seconds in Beijing and the 200 m in 22.85 seconds in Shijiazhuang.

Yan Lianke            Origin/Culture/Country: Chinese

Yan Lianke: is a Chinese writer of novels and short stories based in Beijing. His work is highly satirical, which has resulted in his most famous works being banned in the PRC. He has admitted to self-censorship while writing his stories in order to avoid censorship.He has also published more than ten volumes of short stories including the winner of the Lu Xun Literature Award in 2000, Nian Yue Ri (???). Enjoyment, which was published in 2004, received wide acclaim in China, garnering the 3rd Lao She Literature Award (?????????) in the novel category. While his works have been widely published abroad, some of his more controversial works have been banned in China.

Yan Liben            Origin/Culture/Country: Chinese

Yan Liben: was a Chinese painter and government official of the early Tang Dynasty. His notable works include the Thirteen Emperors Scroll and Northern Qi Scholars Collating Classic Texts. He also painted the Portraits at Lingyan Pavilion, under Emperor Taizong of Tang, commissioned in 643 to commemorate 24 of the greatest contributors to Emperor Taizong's reign, as well as 18 portraits commemorating the 18 great scholars who served Emperor Taizong when he was the Prince of Qin. Yan's paintings included painted portraits of various Chinese emperors from the Han Dynasty (202 BC-220 AD) up until the Sui Dynasty (581-618) period. His works were highly regarded by the Tang writers Zhu Jingxuan and Zhang Yanyuan, who noted his paintings were "works among the glories of all times".[2

Yan Song            Origin/Culture/Country: Chinese

Yan Song: is a Chinese football player who currently plays for Zhejiang Lücheng. He is well-known in China for his good ball control and dribbling, especially as a winger. During the ACL 2006 when Dalian played a home match against J-League champions Gamba Osaka, Yan Song dribbled through the entire Gamba defense and almost scored with a curled lob.

Xia Yan: was a Chinese playwright and screenwriter. Amongst the dozens of plays and screenplays penned by Xia Yen, the most renowned works include Under the Eaves of Shanghai (1937) and The Fascist Bacillus (1944). He rose to the position of vice-minister for culture by the 1960s but later spent eight years in prison following the Cultural Revolution. Today the Xia Yan Film Literature Awards are named in his honour.

Poon Lok Yan: is a badminton player from Hong Kong. Together with Tse Ying Suet she has received her best competitive results in Women's Doubles. Their breakout performance was at the 2011 India Super Series where they reached the semifinals. They matched that result at the 2011 Japan Super Series and are currently in position to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
